2023: Buhari provides extra security for Amaechi amid alleged president’s endorsement
Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has provided extra security for the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
According to sources that spoke with Daily Post, President Buhari has the intention to see the former Governor of Rivers succeed him.
One of the sources said, “The President will not object if Amaechi desires to contest. In the interim, the calculation is he will run alongside (Governor) El-Rufai.
“Also, I can confirm that security around the minister has been doubled. This could not have happened without Mr President’s clearance.”
There are reports that Amaechi is currently moving around in a recently purchased bulletproof Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).
Recall that President Buhari in January refused to reveal the identity of his preferred choice in the 2023 general elections.

The president in his statement said, “I would not (mention) because he may be eliminated if I do. I better keep that a secret.”
There were presidential posters of the minister at the venue of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday.
There have been calls on Amaechi to contest in the presidential election.
The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai recently stated that he would contest alongside Amaechi if President Buhari insists.
