16 Yahoo Boys nabbed after protest against EFCC arrests in Delta
Delta Police Command has arrested about sixteen suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo Boys after a protest against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Newsflash Nigeria learn that the Yahoo Boys staged protests against officials of the EFCC over alleged harassment in Ughelli, Delta State.
During the protest, the suspected internet fraudsters destroyed several properties and set trucks belonging to citizens ablaze.
The Chairman of Ughelli North Council, Olorogun Godwin Adode imposed a dawn to dusk curfew in the town.
The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali confirmed that 16 Yahoo boys were arrested during a chat with newsmen on Wednesday.
Ali said he visited Ughelli to assess the damages done by the suspected internet fraudsters in Ughelli during the protest against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The Police Boss debunked rumours that the Police killed the person who was allegedly shot dead during the protest, saying, “Policemen are very professional in handling situations”.
